YOELL® ("You Will") is the trademark of a unique line of jewelry that is handmade by HIV infected women in South Africa. These women are trained in manufacturing exclusive bracelets.
HIV infected women in South Africa are often expelled from their families and communities. In the Health Information Centres of MKI, they make YOELL® jewelry and earn money. This money helps them to maintain their own families and also enables them to earn a place back into society and to live with HIV in a ‘normal’ way, to work, to bring healthy children in to the world and take good care of their children. These women are also examples of ‘women empowerment’ for other women in the townships.
The revenue from the sale of YOELL® jewelry goes straight back to South Africa: to the women who make the jewelry, and the projects of the Medical Knowledge Institute.
